How to get started

01. Say hello.

Tell us a little about yourself and what interests you about volunteering.

02. Have a conversation.

We can explain the current opportunities, training and membership requirements.

03. Take the next step.

If it is a good fit, the brigade can guide you through the NSW RFS joining process.

A few common questions.

Do I need previous firefighting experience?

Contact the recruitment team to discuss your experience and the training pathway for the roles you are interested in.

How much time is involved?

Commitments depend on the role and brigade activities. Ask the team about current training arrangements and expectations.

Can I visit the station?

Please arrange a visit first. The station is staffed by volunteers and members may be away at training or incidents.
